Scholarship nurtures next generation of knitwear innovators.

Shima Seiki Italia has announced the launch of its first-ever Scholarship Program, dedicated to investing in the talent and creativity of young knitwear designers. The exclusive initiative is designed to bridge the gap between education and the advanced knitwear industry, supporting students from seven of Italy’s most renowned fashion academies.

The programme invites one outstanding student from each institution to take part in an intensive, hands-on course in September 2025 at Shima Seiki Italia’s headquarters. Participants will train in cutting-edge 3D knitwear technologies, learning to combine digital design skills with practical manufacturing expertise.

By offering early access to its latest digital systems and solutions, Shima Seiki Italia aims to strengthen links between creativity, technological innovation and the real demands of industry, empowering the next generation to shape the future of knitwear production.

The students awarded this inaugural scholarship are Carlotta Muranella (IUAV Venezia), Benedetta Panuccio (IUAD Milano), Meilin Zhang (Istituto Secoli), Victor Brial (POLIMODA), Andrea Siciliano (TAM Biella), David Preghenella (Politecnico di Milano) and Gili Goldstein (NABA).

The company believes this initiative is just the beginning of a wider commitment to equipping young designers with the knowledge, tools and vision to drive Italian knitwear to new heights.
