The journey towards excellence undertaken by Filpucci Group is advancing very rapidly for a responsible innovation that the company presented with the Responsible Innovation Collection during the 84th edition of Pitti Filati, which took place in Florence, Italy, last month.

“The mix of the best raw materials, the know-how of Filpucci in the spinning process and the integration of responsible innovation values both in the dyeing and in the finishing processes, have given life to a collection that represents a new level of smart innovation linked to a transparent, sustainable and certified production,” the company reports.

“Responsible innovation means creating a strategy focused on creativity, innovation and sustainability that involves each stage of the production process, whilst respecting the values of Filpucci’s DNA. Simultaneously offered to clients is the opportunity to access a new aesthetic marked with a strong fashion-forward orientation in which high quality blends with smart uniqueness.”

This season’s collection is composed of 36 yarn styles, among which some are new developments and some are already established products.

Spring/Summer 2020 collection

The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified ENKA viscose is a key ingredient of the Spring/Summer 2020 collection, being blended in more than the 50% of the articles. The collection also presents GOTS certified organic cotton and linen. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the most important standard for sustainable production of garments and natural fibre textile products from organic farming.

“Within the premium ingredients of this collection Bemberg by Asahi Kasei (Cupro fibre) stands out, a matchless and original, new generation material made from the smart-tech transformation of a cotton linter, a bio-utility waste, converted through a traceable and transparent process being a model of the modern circular economy that boasts top level certifications at each level of the supply chain,” the company adds.

“And lastly, the GRS certification (Global Recycled Standard) for transformed fibres that provides evidence and criteria to cover the composition of the recycled product respecting social criteria and workers’ rights.”

Re.VerSo

Filpucci has an eye-toward traceable and transparent manufacturing process, as shown by the Re.VerSo circular economy supply chain, of which the Filpucci group is a unique ambassador in the field of high-end/low-impact knitwear yarns.

Whistles launched a capsule collection of sustainable cashmere jumpers in collaboration with Re.VerSo by Filpucci and C.L.A.S.S. The launch of the Re.VerSo cashmere range is the start of a commitment to explore opportunities for substitutions of key raw materials that carry transparency, circularity and sustainable sourcing as their main attributes, without compromising on style and quality.

Patagonia responsibly sources Re.VerSo products by Filpucci, which are now included in Patagonia collections. “We are always on the hunt for the highest performing, lowest impact materials. We were thrilled to find Re.VerSo  (95/5 transformed) cashmere yarn from Filpucci. It allowed us to create a range of products with the soft properties of cashmere that insulate while adhering to our mission statement; build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm,” the brand stated.

Eileen Fisher Vision 2020 is also championing Re.VerSo cashmere yarns by Filpucci for its use of recycled fibres among other sustainable fibres, thus helping to divert waste from the landfill to achieve a lower environmental impact.
