SupplyCompass, an end-to-end production software for fashion brands and manufacturers, will be hosting a webinar in collaboration with Good On You and Farfetch, exploring ‘What Makes a Sustainable Fashion Brand’.

The SupplyCompass webinar – which is being hosted at 11am BST on Thursday 16 July – will delve into the burgeoning and critical growth of sustainability in fashion, and how it is shaped by consumer choices and business innovation. The speakers include Sandra Capponi, Co-Founder of Good On You, and Tom Berry, Global Director Sustainable Business at Farfetch, alongside SupplyCompass Co-Founder, Flora Davidson.

Together the panellists will discuss the different dimensions of sustainability, from defining sustainable fashion and greenwashing to why sustainable fashion matters and the role for consumers. They will aim to cover huge ground, including the most important aspects for brands to consider, leading industry examples and standards, the interplay of retail and technology, and how honest, effective communications to inform customer purchases are integral to creating a positive future in fashion. Attendees will be able to submit their questions ahead of the webinar, some of which will be answered live by the panellists.

Flora Davidson, Co-Founder of SupplyCompass, comments: “Consumers are demanding sustainability as a standard requirement from the brands they buy from, however it is a challenging and complex journey for fashion brands. It’s difficult to find new and compliant supply chains without visiting and going through set assessment processes, in order to achieve the necessary level of supply chain traceability and capture reliable product and supply chain information. Moreover, it’s even harder to accomplish this accurately and at speed. It’s why we’re so excited to be part of the technology that is starting to provide accessible, rigorous and scalable solutions to these challenges.”

Earlier this month, SupplyCompass launched its Certification Guide to help fashion SMEs navigate the sustainable production landscape. The guide includes a rounding up of the top industry supply chain certifications, standards and leading audits – with the aim of preventing greenwashing, allowing for greater transparency and raising awareness of sustainability and fair practices in the industry. Representing different parts of ethical, sustainable, and transparent fashion and homeware manufacturing, these certifications and standards cover fair labour practices, social concerns including animal welfare, and environmental impact.
