The 5th session of SPINEXPO, a trade fair dedicated to promoting innovation in the yarn, fibre and knitwear industry, will present a preview of its collections and colour ranges for the Spring/Summer 2020 season from 16-17 January.
SPINEXPO Paris is the European branch of SPINEXPO Shanghai, which has been active in China for more than 20 years, gathering together flagship spinning mills and manufacturers of knitwear globally. The exhibition is aimed at brands with a knitwear division, manufacturers of flat and circular knitwear, weavers, sporting goods manufacturers, hand knitting wool distributors and all users of yarns and knitwear.
“Exhibitors have an exceptional machine pool available, which enables them to offer new, technologically advanced collections every season, thanks to a strong partnership between machine manufacturers, spinning mills, and knitwear or sporting goods manufacturers,” the organisers report. “For the fourth strand of trends on the main theme In Between, we are presenting Bio-Construction. Bio-Construction, highlighting materials and techniques that respect the environment, natural fibres and dyeing methods that control the pollution caused by this process.”
New printing techniques are emerging, some of which are based on bacteria, and SPINEXPO is closely monitoring all these initiatives. This theme promotes natural fibres, with vegetable dyes or used without dyes, discoveries from the field of medicine, and techniques from traditional crafts.
“To illustrate this theme, we have chosen to present the new collection from the HUBO Group, well-known by users of yarns and knitwear for its creativity and the quality of its products.” For the Spring/Summer 2020 season, HUBO has organised its collection into five separate parts.
High durability yarns
Buyers have started paying attention and are calling for organic cotton, recycled cotton, silk and linen. In taking this demand into account, HUBO had developed a series of new yarns combining Ecovero viscose, Refibra fibre, Tencel and recycled polyester. HUBO is certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100, the Higg Index, Global Recycle Standard (GRS) and Organic Content Standard (OCS). The spinning mill is also a member of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI).
Fine yarns
Fine, light knitwear has always been prized in summer. The contrast between transparency and density, matteness and shine makes many variations possible, and the inclusion of metallic yarns and fibres gives the knitwear a luxury appearance.
The addition of a filament or super fine viscose makes the finished product flexible and soft to the touch.
Sports yarns
Spandex is mixed with certain yarns, such as superfine velvet look yarns or feather yarns, environmental polyester, Modal and viscose, Tencel and linen, for a clean and compact appearance combining control and rapid recovery from perspiration. To achieve this product, Coolmax and Coolplus fibres are used to give the yarn a high-tech look.
Soft-touch yarns
A blend of natural fibres, such as cotton and linen; a new manufacturing technology is used to make the yarn as soft as cashmere.
Ribbon yarns
Newly developed nonwoven, with a leather look and a peach-like touch, two-tone ribbon yarns are presented in cotton/metallic yarn, using a new technology that gives it a dry touch.
