Leonie Van Balen wins Creators, THE CALL contest.
Shima Seiki Italia has announced the winner of its first exclusive contest, Creators, THE CALL. The competition, which celebrated creativity and innovation in knitwear, saw talented young designers showcase their skills and originality.
Leonie Van Balen emerged as the winner with her project, the creation of the dress “Dory.” Shima Seiki Italia expressed excitement in welcoming Leonie to its next experimental collection.
The company extended gratitude to all participants, whose impressive work and dedication contributed to the contest’s success. Special recognition was given to finalists, including Gabriela Braga Rodriguez, Liliana Vailati, Bianca Maria Magliulo, Francesca Sargenti, Miriam Bork, Maria Palomba, Cira Cioffi, Fede Chiarini, and Michele Fumagalli. Their projects were supported by leading industry names such as United Colors of Benetton, Maglificio Marilina, SMT Società Manifattura Tessile, MAS, Sportmax, and Imax.
Shima Seiki Italia collaborated with Master in Creative Knitwear Design at Accademia Costume & Moda, Modateca Deanna, Fashion Area of NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, and Politecnico di Milano for this initiative.
