Pitti Filati 82: Research in the Spotlight!

This 82nd show will be dominated by the world preview of the spring/summer 2019 knitwear yarn collections.

The Spazio Ricerca, a creative lab and experimental trend monitoring centre, will benefit from a strategic location – Hall M – and an improved formula. The theme for S/S 2019 will be RAW, a mood that explores this period of media overexposure and ultra-precise technology, putting forward a new freedom of doing, being and transforming.

The cinema, with Pitti Live Movie, is the thread linking all of Pitti Immagine’s winter shows. Pitti Filati will also be turned into a major film festival, with the central square in the Fortezza da Basso set up like a real movie theatre district. The themes at the new Research Space will provide visual inspiration for a series of highly cinematographic posters, which will play a leading role in an installation in the square at the Fortezza.

KnitClub, the area of Pitti Immagine Filati that showcases quality knitwear manufacturers, is consolidating its links with the Research Space. It features an increasingly extensive and important selection of firms able to interpret the technical and creative desires of visitors to the show.

This section, which brings together Italian and international exhibitors involved in stylistic, technical and production design and consultancy, features a more extensive and interactive offer than ever before.
