Milan,
Luxury Jersey, a high-quality Italian product that benefits from the textiles culture of the renowned Boselli family, has launched two unique fabrics at Premiére Vision in Paris this week. According to the manufacturer, the new fabrics boast both a high creative and technical content and are intended for designers and fashion houses in the luxury segment. They are also said to offer a strong sustainable component.
Debuting at Premiére Vision, the new fabrics are made using GOTS-certified organic cotton with EVO by Fulgar, a bio-based polyamide yarn. Both fabrics are aimed at women’s outerwear and the ‘pierced net effect’ is obtained by intermeshing the polyamide with the cotton yarns.
EVO by Fulgar
Luxury Jersey has chosen its established partner Fulgar, a leading Italian company in the production of man-made fibres, to create the innovative bio-based fabrics through the use of EVO by Fulgar, a fibre obtained from the castor oil plant. “These naturally-occurring plants are not used for food – they are a totally renewable resource that does not require large amounts of water or take up land that can be used for agricultural purposes,” Fulgar explains. “Once again, a collaboration between Luxury Jersey and Fulgar has inspired the creation of high-end fabrics combining a strong technical content with an emphasis on sustainability.”
“Suitable for any textile application and ideal for the sportswear, EVO by Fulgar is ultra-light, super stretch and extremely breathable, dries quickly and does not need ironing, has thermal properties and natural bacteriostatic: a whole range of distinctive values and benefits that ensure maximum comfort and unmatched performance, while retaining an intense eco-awareness,” Fulgar adds.
Long heritage
Luxury Jersey was established in 2011 by Federico Boselli, his wife Ilaria Bottio and Elisabetta Proserpio. The company produces high-quality knitted fabrics intended for designers, ready-to-wear fashion houses and the luxury sector. The company benefits directly from the Boselli family’s activities and textiles experience – the family’s presence in the historical location of Garbagnate Monastero, where all the company’s in-house operations take place, dates back through its female line to the 16th century. It also has a showroom on Viale Vittorio Veneto 16 in Milan.
The crucial elements of product conception and development are handled personally by Federico Boselli, who can draw on his twenty years of experience in the sector. The collection comprises articles with a high creative and technical content, developed to reflect fashion trends and providing an excellent response to customer requirements.
Luxury Jersey‘s production is backed by an extremely reliable, high-quality and exclusively Italian supply chain that bases its work on a concept of technical creativity. The company supports strictly Made in Italy production, working with fashion leaders to create garments that are both beautiful and well made.
Made in Italy
Fulgar is the international leader in the man-made fibre market with the production and distribution of polyamide 6.6 and covered elastomers in the textile and technical sector. Founded in the 1970s at Castel Goffredo (Mantova) in the heart of Italy’s hosiery district, Fulgar carved out a role as sector leader and now boasts Europe’s largest nylon 6.6 yarn factory.
The company’s global attitude is also reflected by its internationalization strategy launched with the opening of new production centres in Sri Lanka in 2003 and Serbia in 2007. Fulgar is present in all textile sectors, from hosiery to circular knits, corsetry, swimming and sport, with high-quality products that stand out for their excellence and uniqueness, without ever forgetting the Made in Italy textile tradition.
“The great versatility of the products is the result of Fulgar’s design, development and manufacturing structure, which always remains aware of the look, functionality and comfort clients require. That’s why the company is constantly increasing its investment in R&D, with a significant increase in the last three years, in parallel with a deep commitment to environmental issues that takes the form of projects and initiatives involving the entire production process,” Fulgar concludes.
In 2009 Fulgar became an official partner of Invista, owner of the Lycra brand, for the exclusive distribution in Europe and Turkey of Lycra Fibre, Lycra T400 and Elaspan Fibre brands. In 2012 Fulgar also became exclusive distributor and producer of Emana fibre, owned by the Rhodia-Solvay group, for Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
Luxury Jersey is present at Première Vision with EVO by Fulgar in Pavilion 5, stand 5P22.
