New digital platform transforms textile customisation for designers.
Amsterdam-based textile innovator Byborre has launched the Textile Room, a digital catalogue of fully configurable knitted textiles aimed at revolutionising how designers approach material selection and development.
Available now via byborre.com/collection, the Textile Room offers 20 signature ready-to-configure fabrics, allowing creators to adapt colours, tones, and pattern repeats in real time. It represents a significant shift away from static catalogues and toward an intuitive, interactive experience where textiles become a central part of the design process, rather than an afterthought.
“Until now, customisation has been limited and reactive,” the company said in a statement. “With the Textile Room, designers gain instant control over material design, enabling a new way of working that is agile, personal, and responsible.”
Each textile is rooted in Byborre’s distinctive aesthetic and manufactured on demand, beginning from 50 metres. The platform’s interface allows real-time visualisation of changes in scale, colour combinations, and surface behaviour – enabling users to iterate live and tailor their choices to specific spatial, product or brand needs.
Byborre emphasises that the shift is not just about configurability, but accessibility. Textiles are treated as core design components, not mere surface solutions. This approach supports the growing demand for transparency and sustainability in design.

Every fabric produced through the Textile Room comes with a Textile Passport, a document that tracks the environmental impact and full production journey of each order – including a Life Cycle Assessment. This aligns with Byborre’s long-standing commitment to ethical manufacturing and supply chain traceability.
Founded in 2015, Byborre has consistently worked to provide designers, architects, and brands with tools to create responsibly made textiles. The launch of the Textile Room represents a major milestone in this mission, inviting a broader creative audience to take part in shaping textile innovation.
In addition to the curated options in the Textile Room, the broader Byborre platform continues to offer end-to-end tools for developing custom fabrics from scratch, supported by the company’s expert knit technicians or through self-guided digital design.
As design industries increasingly move toward sustainable practices, Byborre’s initiative sets a new standard in textile development – one that is open, dynamic, and built for a new era of conscious creation.
